Green debate taking shape

I've been looking at the global warming issue and possible solutions off and on for about 20 years. The debate seems to finally be making its way to the mainstream.

Smooth jazz track

Some of the best music being made today never sees the top of the "pop" charts. But thankfully the net allows musicians who never meet each other to collaborate. Here is a smooth jazz instrumental written by a guitarist in Virginia, with collaborators on the West Coast, the Midwest and others.

Rob Bell on materialism

In the last two years I have been rediscovering my roots as a disciple of Christ Jesus. After many years of exploring just about every idea and system of philosophy known, I still had less answers to my questions than I had at 18.

In addition to my wonderful pastors, Shannon Newsome and Jeff Fessler, I have been hit hard by the teachings of Rob Bell.

I study a lot of Erwin McManus, John Elderedge and Andy Stanley, and am edified each time I immerse myself in their teachings. But something about Rob Bell knocks me to the floor each time I listen to him.

Today I listened to a sermon he offered back in November. I highly recommend it. I’ve yet to hear another speaker hit the materialistic nail on the head quite the way he did in this sermon.
